La validité factorielle est fondée sur l'analyse factorielle. Elle est définie par la saturation du test dans un facteur. Si la saturation du test dans ce facteur est jugée satisfaisante, on dit que le test mesure ce facteur.

«validation factorielle» : L'expression "validation factorielle" n'est pas synonyme de "validité factorielle" même si les auteurs confondent "validité" et "validation". La "validation" est l'action de valider ou le procédé qui permet d'établir le degré de "validité". La "validité" est la qualité d'un test.
